Candace's Manju


  • 2 ½ C Flour
  • 1 ½ Tbs Sugar
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • ¾ C + 3 Tbs Oil
  • 7 Tbs Cold Milk
  • Tsubushian (Refrigerated) - Easier To Put In Manju

  • whisk flour, sugar and salt in medium-sized bowl. mix well.

    add ¾ c and 3 tbsp oil and mix 7 tbsp cold milk to flour mixture. mix well with flour mixture.

    i use tbspoon to mix everything. or you can use your hands to mix dough well.

    divide dough into 12 equal pieces and roll into a ball.

    flatten ball into left hand and add tsubushian with teaspoon (heaping) in center of dough. pinch edges together and form into 2 inch manju shape.

    optional: lay manju on baking sheet covered with aluminum foil (ungreased). brush manju lightly with evaporated milk, cream or regular milk. try not to spill milk on baking sheet.

    bake at 400 degrees for 23mins or until golden brown.
